Lemonade: a fun, healthy counter spot.

Lemonade has recently appeared at Fashion Island's "food court."  Started in Los Angeles, it is another one of those places that you order your pre-made food as you walk down the line to a counter at the end.  (Think "glorified Souplantation".)  The great part is that the food is actually quite extraordinary: fresh ingredients in ways that other restaurants of this type are just not creating.

Now as all other LA spin-offs, many people argue this is not quite as good as the others.  I unfortunately have not tried the LA ones, but to be honest, I don't think I need to.  The Fashion Island is pretty spot on.  The menu changes seasonally, the portions are large enough to satisfy the cost-food analysis.  And there are too many types of lemonade drinks to try in one sitting.

My favorite part about this place is that the portions fit every appetite.  Hungry? Get 6 portions.  Just a snack?  Try 2.  It even caters to all types of dietary needs: gluten free, lactose free, veggie, vegan, you name it.  There are hot items, sandwiches, mixed salads, veggies, fish, meat, sides, and even desserts.  Everything you could ever want is inside the four walls of this place.  (Okay not everything, but stop being a smart ass.)  Anyone will find at least ONE thing that they want to eat here.

While I may not drive out of my way to come here (I don't live near Fashion), it is definitely a place I will stop by for lunch if I am in the area.  Healthy AND yummy is hard to come by these days!
